SAFE ACCESS & RESCUE FOR WIND
Safe Access & Rescue for Wind is a comprehensive course for anyone wanting to work in a wind turbine: wind technicians, HSE managers, contractors, engineers etc. This course covers the applicable legislation, safe work practices, safety and personal protective equipment (PPE), and rescue and evactuation practice from a windmill.
Suspendem offers training using Petzl I.D., Skylotec Milan, Tractel Derope, DBI Rollgliss, TSL SRK and similar devices on demand.Courses are 16 hours in duration for the theory and practical training on 1 rescue device. Each additional rescue device is 8 hours additional practical training. Group size is limited to 6 participants per 1 Instructor to maintain high quality and safety.
The training can be held on location at your windfarm or at the National Centre for Windmill Maintenance (NCWM), in Gaspé QC. At the NCWM we have a state-of-the-art facility with a practice nacelle inside and outsie, a classroom, fall protection practice area and a 33 meter (115ft) training tower. This environment provides a realistic and controlled learning environment for your staff.
Participants are encouraged to bring their PPE including: workboots, safety glasses, helmet, harness, lanyards, cable grab, gloves, classroom materials and work clothes for inside and outside. CONFINED SPACE RESCUE FOR WIND
Confined Space Training for Wind is a comprehensive training that meets the workplace safety requirement of practicing confined space rescue in the actual work environment. This course covers the applicable legislation, safe work practices, safety and personal protective equipment (PPE), and rescue and evactuation practice from a confined space in a windmill.
This training, including practical exercises, is important for anyone wanting to enter the hub, blades or basement of the wind turbine. Participants practice respirator fit tests, rescue from a variety confined spaces (specific to wind turbines), use of a half-board. These rescue techniques are taught in addition to the skills of identifying and establishing safe work practices of entering permit and non-permit controlled confined spaces, using ventilators and gas detectors.
Suspendem offers this training in the National Centre for Windmill Maintenance (NCWM) in Gaspe, QC or on-site. Participants will train in actual nbacelles, hubs and blade roots. Suspendem has a confined space simulator that facilitates learning, whicle providing a realistic practice environment.
Courses are 16 hours or two days in length.
